At Pine Terrace, we strive to provide a safe environment for all children who participate in our church ministries and events. Our goal is to inform volunteers of policies and procedures and train them to ensure the protection of children who are placed in their care. Any ministry that serves children and youth has the obligation to exercise “due diligence” with regard to protecting its members, especially the children. All Staff members and volunteers are required to go through a screening and training process that will, in most cases, scare off sexual predators and offer peace of mind to discerning parents when choosing a church, by knowing your ministry is being pro-active in trying to protect the children.
The approval procedure consists of a 3-step screening process.
Potential volunteers must submit an Application to Serve.
Potential volunteers over the age of 18 must submit information to a secure designated online background screening service.
Potential volunteers must complete the Child Protection Training either online or instructor led.
When you have completed the online video training, please complete the Video Training Affidavit.
Once all of the above steps are completed, applicants will be notified via email when their name is added to the Approved Volunteer List. This list will be used in all areas of preschool, children and youth to fulfill volunteers and teacher roles throughout the year.
